I moved!

Dec 1 was the last day of my 3 year residency at Penland. I will miss being in that beautiful place and the community of friends I made while I was there. Boxes still abound, but I'm settling in to my new studio in the River Arts District in Asheville, NC. I'm sharing a studio with my very talented friend Barbara Zaretsky. She is the owner of BZ Designs and director of Cloth Fiber Workshop. We keep regular hours- Mon thru Sat 10 to 4. Please stop by if you are in the area.

Urie

One of my fellow residents, Jeong Ju, recently adopted a feral cat that had been dropped off here at Penland back in the winter. During the spring and summer Jeong Ju patiently wooed this little orange fella at the school dining hall where he hung out. Finally one day in Sept he followed her the 1/2 mile from the dining hall to her apartment and that was that. He's still shy around others, but follows Jeong Ju like a dog. She named him Urie.
